# Strickler v. Greene

## Holding used

A true *Brady* violation requires favorable evidence, willful or inadvertent suppression, and prejudice; favorable evidence includes exculpatory and impeachment material.

## Material limitation

The Court concluded that the petitioner had not proved the necessary prejudice on the complete record. The case does not make every failure to disclose favorable evidence a completed constitutional violation.
